Matthew 12:36-37 - But I say unto you, that every idle word that men shall speak, they shall give account thereof in the day of judgement. For by the words thou shalt be justified, and by thy words thou shalt be condemned.
Yesterday, I was given the opportunity to be a juror and I was chosen for a case. As I sat and listened to the State's Attorney and the Defendant Attorney deliver their statements to the court on their perceived sides of the case, I paid close attention the the words out of every one's mouth around me. There is but words to build up and tear down one side against the other. The words of both sides were thoughtfully written and presented to gain the favor of the jury. When the defendant took the stand his words were not so prepared; he spoke to answer what was asked of him to get his point across to the jury to express how he was wronged. As the jury sat to deliberate the verdict, there was plenty of worthless wording used to give them the confidence that they were making the right decision - beyond a reasonable doubt!
For by your words you will have to prove or show to be right or reasonable and by your words you will be given punishment so imposed with an unhappy destiny.
I am practicing using my words wisely for when I stand before the Judge and Jury!!
